Team

While our offices are spread throughout Pennsylvania, our small, family owned roots remain as we support our clients throughout the industries. Read more about what makes each office unique below.

Headquarters

Headquarters

TCG’s Hamburg office is the main headquarters for The Crossroads Group. As the largest of the three offices, they offer a full array of all our services. What started in Quakertown, PA, has strategically relocated for easy accessibility to land development and telecom sites throughout Pennsylvania.
The culture of this office, and TCG as a whole, is that of many family owned businesses. We work diligently with our clients to achieve their goals in a timely and cost-effective manner. We maintain this ethic for our teams as to encourage and improve upon individual skills and improve quality of life. The Hamburg office enjoys friendly competitions and social events. They also support the local community through sponsorships and volunteer time for events such as the Hamburg-er Festival, Art of the Brew Festival, The King Frost Parade, and collaborating with Hamburg Area High School’s mentorship program.

elysburg team

Elysburg Branch

TCG’s Elysburg office was first established in Elysburg, PA, after the acquisition of Richard C. Parsons Land Surveying in November 2011. This team has since grown and moved just down the road to the Bebenek ‘Crossroads’ Plaza in Elysburg, a truly fitting location! The Elysburg team offers full engineering services in addition to the mainstay surveying that got this office started. On the occasional Friday, you can find this group taking a break from the typical day to day tasks by enjoying egg sandwiches for breakfast and watching movie trailers. As can be said for all TCG offices, we have an open-door policy. However, in the Elysburg community, more so than others, friends, neighbors, and clients actively use it to stop by and have a good, old-fashioned discussion and we love it!

Pittsburgh Office

Pittsburgh Branch

TCG’s Pittsburgh office was established in November 2018. Although this office started out as a small remote group of 3, after adding a few new team members, they are now officially established in Bridgeville, PA. While the Pittsburgh office specializes in wireless telecommunications, their abilities extend to fiber engineering and data collection/field audits in the tri-state area of Western PA, Central/East Ohio, and West Virginia. Additionally, the team works to support both the survey and land development services in Hamburg and Elysburg. TCG Pittsburgh believes that the best way to break up work tension is a visit from our furry friends or a potluck style lunch. We whole heartedly believe and support the notion that happy employees willingly go the extra mile to make happy clients.

Leadership

Jeremiah Hoagland

Jeremiah D. Hoagland

President

I grew up on a rural working farm located just east of Elysburg, Pennsylvania. I received my high school diploma from Southern Columbia High School and my Bachelor of Science Degree from Wilkes University. I spent those years being very active in scholastic and collegiate activities and organized sports. Upon graduating from College, I found my career in Civil Engineering which lead to co-founding The Crossroads Group, LLC in May of 2006. Through the company’s growth and expansion, my family and I moved to Ontelaunee Township, where we currently reside. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially spending time outside fishing, hunting, hiking, or relaxing at the beach or by a warm mountain campfire.

Since co-founding The Crossroads Group, LLC in 2006, my responsibilities include all facets of small business ownership, which often require multi-tasking between company financial planning, business marketing and human resources all while maintaining a high level of active project workload as a Project Manager and Project Engineer. As the company grows, I still strive to maintain an active project-related workload, however I also deeply enjoy the role I increasingly play in mentoring and encouraging our younger staff as they pursue their own goals in this industry.

The journey in business ownership has been a true blessing as I have watched it grow from (at one point) two full time staff and an intern, to where we are today. While the company is headquartered in Hamburg, PA, we also have offices in Elysburg and Bridgeville with a staff of over two dozen employees. As we build upon the success of the past, I am truly excited to see what the future has in store for the company!

Vice President

I started with TCG as an intern back in the summer of 2007. Since then, I graduated Johns Hopkins in May 2008 with a degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Entrepreneurship and Management. Shortly after, I came on as a project engineer and EIT, and spent the next four and half years working towards my Professional Engineer license. After successfully passing my PE exam in June 2013, I took over and have since been in charge of the Engineering Standards and also working as Vice President of TCG. I have extensive experience in stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, and zoning compliance throughout the commonwealth and multiple other states like Ohio, New York, West Virginia, and Delaware to name a few. In addition to stormwater I’ve completed many minimum use and low volume driveway and ROW permits with PennDOT, done a few Sewage Water Quality permits, all components of Sewage Planning Modules, and a variety of low pressure force main designs. My favorite part of being an owner at TCG is building relationships with client’s and employees, so that we have a true team. When you’re working with friends instead of just subordinates or clients, projects get completed quicker, more accurately, and in a much more enjoyable work environment.

Ron Bobiak

Ron Bobiak

VP, Director of A&E Services

I have been in the Telecommunication industry since January of 2006 and have been a human since September of 1976. Throughout my career I’ve enjoyed learning many different aspects and disciplines of network deployment. I began this journey as a Site Acquisition Specialist in the Washington/Baltimore market for a New Site build program for T-Mobile. What an introduction! It was a challenging place to start and really helped shape me for what was and is yet to come. During that time, I focused on learning everything that I could about the equipment, RF design, and construction. Going into and industry that I had no experience I found comfort in the mindset that knowledge is power and that was how I would succeed. Quickly I had found myself managing projects for new site build, site modifications, an emergency MW deployment when FiberTower went bankrupt, and then then fiber deployment as 4G really started to take shape. There were a couple of stops along the way with an engineering company and a stint at Verizon as an equipment engineer – but ultimately managing a fiber project there also. After that, I had an amazing opportunity to start a market for an engineering company. It was very much a start-up atmosphere and it was a rollercoaster of a ride in every sense. I was fortunate to learn so many things about business and leading people. It truly molded my philosophy of how to lead as a person first and a manager second. I had some incredible influences along the way, both positive and negative. What one does with experience is what defines them as a leader. You can either carry on the tradition of managing by force or fear, treating people as pieces on a game board, or you can take the difficult road of leading with empathy, support, and kindness. I chose the latter – it is infinitely more rewarding to be the reason someone believes in themselves.

Outside of Telecommunications, I have had military experience in the Army Reserves as a field medic, I’ve been a bus person, a cook, a kitchen appliance installer, a salesperson and probably a few other things that I have forgotten about at this point. I enjoy all types of music (always will be a metal head at heart) and enjoy playing the guitar. My wife and I have two rescue pups (Gibson and Les Paul) and a Mother In Law that lives with us. We call her Alice, and although she doesn’t quite live up the name, we’ll keep her for now. All of them enjoy my passion for cooking and bbq smoking.

Becky Grant

Becky Grant

Director, Real Estate Services

Becky joined The Crossroads Group in July 2021 after moving to Pittsburgh from the DC Metro area. She brings with her telecom-centric real estate and construction expertise after serving the Washington/Baltimore market for 13 years – 10 of those spent overseeing AT&T site development. Originally from New Jersey (hold the judgement) and having studied studio art and graphic design in college, she’s happy to be a part of this rockstar team knowing full well that killer engineering is the best foundation to securing entitlements, safe civil deployments, and ultimately happy customers. She’s passionate about quality work and building a great team – which starts with servant leadership. When she looks around the table, she’s happy to know that’s exactly what she’s found – surrounded by the good guys. When she’s not over-organizing, jotting down copious (read: ridiculous) amounts of meeting minutes, or cheering on her colleagues while they wrestle bears/avoid spiders/survive inter-galactic crashes – she can be found enjoying the great outdoors, volunteering at church, or hanging with her rescue pup George.

Matt Young

Matt Young

Design Lead / CAD Manager

As a CAD manager I wear a lot of different hats. My duties include delegating and overseeing the work of CAD drafters, establishing departmental standards for software, techniques and tools to prepare drawings and plans.

I graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, PA with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Architectural Drafting and Design. In the past 20 years I have developed my skills in architectural, project management and civil engineering design. I also have extensive knowledge in the surveying industry with office and field coordination related to topographic, boundary and as-built surveys. I also work with the development of 3D renderings to show clients what their project could look like in 3D.

I grew up on a small farm in Chester County, so I have a great love of the outdoors and nature. In my free time I enjoy fly-tying, fly fishing, tasting bourbons and spending time with my family. I currently reside in Boyertown with my wife and teenage step-daughter. We have three Maine Coon cats, that are bigger than some dogs and love to chase squirrels.

Travis Portzline

Travis Portzline

Survey Coordinator

I started at The Crossroads Group back in the winter of 2018 as a Survey Party Chief. In the fall of 2022 I transitioned into a role running the survey department. Born and raised in Central PA, I graduated from Midd West High School with a GED and Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2011 with an Associate’s degree in Surveying. I started my surveying career when I was a junior in high school and never looked back. Working for small surveying companies the whole way up to 300+ person Architect/Engineering/Surveying firms, I have a diverse background with a wide bredth of experience in the survey field. I have worked on projects all along the east coast ranging from PennDot, DEP, Marcellas Shale, Natural Gas Powerplants, construction stakeout, boundaries, ALTA’s, Land Development, and many more. Although being new to the role played in the office, I enjoy taking on new and difficult tasks along with helping better TCG’s survey department. I plan on furthering my professional career by sitting for his SIT exam and working to becoming a PLS. I pride myself in being a team member, communicator, and always trying to support and lift up whoever I have the oppertunity to work with. When not at work, I enjoy spending time my wife and two children, hunting, fishing, golfing, and really anything that will allow me to be outdoors.
